Embattled state senator faces corruption charges

State Senator Dianne Wilkerson, a one-time rising star in state politics who has been plagued with legal troubles during her 15-year legislative career, appeared today in federal court to face charges that she allegedly accepted eight bribes worth $23,500.
Given the tenor of Massachusetts politics, she’ll either get her own talk show or run for Governor.
Sheesh.
Considering it’s Boston, I’d bet on the talk show. Just look how well Tommy Finneran is doing on his early morning gig…..
Then again, don’t forget James Michael Curley, who was in office while he was in prison. Or Marion Barry, for that matter. It’s apparently OK as long as they are Democrats.
