Team B II Report

In the mid 1970s then Director of Central Intelligence George H.W. Bush commissioned the “Team B” report as an exercise in analysis. The competition was “Team A”, the then prevailing assessment of the threat to the West posed by the Soviet Union. The report issued by Team B, composed of people who were not administration insiders, was partly responsible for the Reagan Administrations efforts to cause the collapse of Communism in the Soviet Union and eastern Europe.

The Team B II report is a similar effort at competitive analysis by a number of experts on the threat posed by Islamic Fundamentalism and Sharia. Using a variety of publicly available resources, the team outlines the threat of Sharia to the United States, as well as the strategy and tactics being used. The result is the book Shariah, The Threat To America. This is not a coffee table book, or something suitable for light reading at the beach. It’s a serious and detailed look at the threat of Islamic Fundantalism and the goals of it’s adherents. If you want to understand the nature of the war, and that’s what it is, that we are involved in, then you need to read this book.

One of the key pieces of evidence (literally) used by Team B II is the document An Explanatory Memorandum seized by the FBI in 2004 and used as an exhibit in the Holy Land Foundation trial in 2008. The memo outlines the goals, strategy, and tactics of the Muslim Brotherhood in it’s efforts to impose Sharia in the United States and other western nations. It makes for interesting, if scary, reading.

The book is available at Amazon (isn’t everything?) or you can check with your local book store. I recommend it highly.

I'm a retired paramedic who formerly worked in a largish city in the Northeast corner of the U.S. In my post EMS life I provide Quality Improvement instruction and consulting under contract. I haven't really retired, I just don't work nights, holidays, or weekends.  I escaped the Northeast a couple of years ago and now live in Texas.  I'm more than just a little opinionated, but that comes with having been around the block more than once. You can email me at EMSArtifact@gmail.com After living most of my life (so far) in the northeast my lovely wife and I have moved to central Texas because we weren't comfortable in the northeast any longer. Life is full of twists and turns.
