Here’s a hint. It’s not the idealistic youth that helped to bring about the fall of Hosni Mubarak. They have been shunted aside by the military and the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite what you might have heard on CNN, NPR, ABC, and from the Associated Press, Agence France Presse, and Reuters, there will be nothing resembling a democracy in post Mubarak Egypt. If there are elections, I’d fully expect to see a government not much different than that running Iran. Which won’t do a lot for stability in the Middle East because there is a better than even chance that the new government will repudiate existing peace treaties with Israel and will further be hostile to the United States and the west in general.
All of which is the reason that the Lame Stream Media is ignoring Egypt right now. None of which is deterring the Present Feckless and his three wise women from pushing a similar removal from power of Qaddafi. Poorly I might as as NATO has failed to stop his forces from regaining territory lost when the so called “no fly zone” was established. Now that the US has cut and run, he is going to re establish control over the country, kill the rebels, and cause more mischief around the world.
“Smart Diplomacy”, my ass.
If you think that I’m wrong about Egypt just search “Who’s running Egypt Now” on your favorite search engine. Then search “Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt”. Then, for added points, search “Muslim Brotherhood”. Among other things, you’ll find that Al Qaeda separated from the Muslim Brotherhood because of a disagreement about tactics. Both groups share the same goal of destroying western civilization, they just disagree about tactics.
Scary stuff and an inept Administration not up to the task of dealing with it.
