America, becoming a nation of Freeloaders?
John Stossel talking about, among other things, people who pretend to be homeless in order to get money from well meaning passersby.
Just remember, you read it here at Too Old To Work, Too Young To Retire first.
Although I will grant that he did probably do the segment before I wrote the post.
Still, I got it on Al Gore’s Internet before him.
Too Old To Work, Too Young To Retire, fairly unbalanced. I blog, you decide.
In the city where Chia Pet and I attended college, Chia Pet stated that he actually saw a group of panhandlers holidng a meeting. Apparently, they do so in order to “mark territory” so to speak.
Oh, they definitely have territories and probably designated shifts. My partner and I joke that it must be the FNGs that are out there in the middle of the night in January. There is one corner where they sell flowers. We’ve been told that one guy runs that operation and gives out what are essentially franchises. I don’t know what would happen if someone just decided to show up and start selling flowers, but I would guess it might not be pretty.
Becoming a nation of freeloaders…..
Apparently Mr. Stossel has been in a coma for last 30 years.
Should I change the post title to “John Stossel, Thirty Years Behind TOTWTYTR”?
That would seem more accurate.
Yeah, there are ‘franchises’… see the same thing down here in DC, and they do divide up corners/turn lanes, etc.
