Man Shoots Himself in Groin While Shooting at Occupied Dwelling, Manatee Deputies Say

MANATEE COUNTY, Florida [NMT] — The Manatee County Sherif’s Office reported Johnny Carlton Hawks, Jr., 19, of Palmetto, shot himself in the groin during a time he was shooting into an occupied dwelling on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at about 10 a.m.

Steal a car, dude! Any self respecting criminal knows that.

It appears at this time that Hawks may have accidentally shot himself just prior to or just after the shooting into the occupied residence.
