Omission Corrected

2

I’ve read Jigsaw’s Thoughts off and on for several weeks, but for some reason didn’t think to add it to the blog roll. I’m all the more guilty because Julie reads my blog and comments on a regular basis.

If for no other reason I have to admire an Australian who is willing to go through the layers of bureaucratic manure required to get a gun license in the land down under. Make Massachusetts look easy in comparison. The omission has been rectified and Jigsaw’s Thoughts is now linked.

While in the neighborhood, I neglected to wish Julie and the rest of Australia a happy Australia Day. As I’ve said before, the United States has not had a more staunch ally than Australia. With us in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War I, Gulf War II, and Afghanistan. That’s a friend, folks, not an interest.

Not that you folks asked, but keep the current flag, and give consideration to becoming a Republic. There are persistent rumors that the United States once was a Republic, but you wouldn’t know it looking at today’s politicians and governments. Still, if you do become a Republic, maybe the voters can do something about your repugnant gun laws. But I digress.

I'm a retired paramedic who formerly worked in a largish city in the Northeast corner of the U.S. In my post EMS life I provide Quality Improvement instruction and consulting under contract. I haven't really retired, I just don't work nights, holidays, or weekends.  I escaped the Northeast a couple of years ago and now live in Texas.  I'm more than just a little opinionated, but that comes with having been around the block more than once. You can email me at EMSArtifact@gmail.com After living most of my life (so far) in the northeast my lovely wife and I have moved to central Texas because we weren't comfortable in the northeast any longer. Life is full of twists and turns.

  1. Thanks for the link.I'm not sure how much difference we'ld see if we were a republic. Depends I guess on how the President is elected. The model that was presented here, prior to the last referendum, was that the President was not directly elected but a representative selected by the winning party. Anyway, this is probably a topic for its own post.
