From this day forward, the shoe pictured shall cease being called a Flip Flop and shall be known as an “Obama”.

So it is said, so it shall be.

I’m just surprised no one came up with it before.

I'm a retired paramedic who formerly worked in a largish city in the Northeast corner of the U.S. In my post EMS life I provide Quality Improvement instruction and consulting under contract. I haven't really retired, I just don't work nights, holidays, or weekends.  I escaped the Northeast a couple of years ago and now live in Texas.  I'm more than just a little opinionated, but that comes with having been around the block more than once. You can email me at EMSArtifact@gmail.com After living most of my life (so far) in the northeast my lovely wife and I have moved to central Texas because we weren't comfortable in the northeast any longer. Life is full of twists and turns.

  1. I’ve never understood why someone who alters their viewpoint, based upon the passage of time and new better-updated information, is considered a flip-flopper, which is seen as a negative. I admire a person who takes in ALL of the latest-greatest data and makes the best decision.

  2. Except that he changes on a daily, or even more often basis. In fact, he tailors his message to his audience. Like Bill Clinton, he’s completely poll driven. Two weeks ago he was saying the Surge in Iraq was a failure. This week he’s all for it, even though he voted against it.

  3. Or how he was all condescending to people who “cling to guns or religion” before he was slipping prayers into the western wall or reassuring people that he likes guns as much as the next guy….
